Warnings explained

Take medicine warnings seriously — without panic.

Pregnancy, alcohol, driving, refrigeration — every Indian medicine pack carries warnings. ImproveIt explains what each one means in plain language and flags warnings that apply to your profile.

Warnings you'll commonly see

Avoid in pregnancy

Known or suspected risk to the developing baby. Always confirm with your obstetrician.

Avoid in breastfeeding

Medicine passes into milk in amounts that may affect the baby.

Do not consume with alcohol

Combination can damage the liver or cause dangerous side effects.

May cause drowsiness

Avoid driving, two-wheelers, and machinery until you know your response.

Store below 30 °C

Avoid hot rooms, dashboards and direct sunlight.

For external use only

Never swallow — even small amounts can be toxic.

Personal warnings based on your profile

Set your age, chronic conditions, allergies and pregnancy status once. Every scan and AI Doctor reply then surfaces warnings that actually apply to you — not generic disclaimers.

Medicine warnings — FAQ

What is a Schedule H or Schedule X warning?

Schedule H means the medicine needs a doctor's prescription. Schedule X is even stricter — usually opioids and habit-forming drugs. Pharmacies must keep records of these sales.

Can ImproveIt warn me about pregnancy-unsafe medicines?

Yes — if pregnancy or breastfeeding is set in your profile, the app flags any medicine you scan that is known to be unsafe or requires extra caution.

What does 'do not consume with alcohol' actually mean?

Combining alcohol with that medicine can cause liver damage, severe nausea, dangerous blood pressure drops, or excessive drowsiness depending on the drug.
