Pregnancy changes how your body handles every medicine. A few common pills can directly harm the baby.
Avoid unless a doctor says otherwise
- Ibuprofen, diclofenac and other NSAIDs, especially in the third trimester
- Isotretinoin (acne) — strict contraception required
- Warfarin and several anti-epileptic drugs
- Tetracycline and doxycycline antibiotics
Usually considered safer
Paracetamol for fever, prescribed iron and folic acid, and doctor-approved antibiotics like amoxicillin. Always confirm with your obstetrician.
