You don't need a lab to spot most fakes — a clear photo of the pack is enough to flag the obvious problems.
What a photo check looks at
- Brand and generic name spelling
- Manufacturer name, address and license number
- Batch number, manufacturing date and expiry date
- Print quality, alignment and tamper seals
How to take a good photo
Use daylight, lay the pack flat, fill the frame, and include both the outer carton and the strip. Avoid flash glare on holograms.
Photo checks are a first line of defence — not a chemical assay. If anything feels off, ask your pharmacist.
